Registration:
This site is for individuals with an active interest in fungal pathogenesis or mycology, and is mainly for the scholarly exchange of ideas through discussion among individuals working in academia, industry, government, or a related entity. While membership may be considered for individuals with a passing interest or curiosity in fungal pathogenesis, it will only be under the narrowest of circumstances. Under USERNAME enter a screen name (nickname or made up name), or, your first name and last initial, or just your initials. Please do not use your last name. Your username will serve as your "name" under your profile, which will be visible to everyone, and attached to anything you post. Under E-MAIL, we prefer a static e-mail address (i.e., institution domain, not @yahoo.com). Be sure to check “Hide e-mail address from public” if you want your e-mail address to remain hidden. You can make your e-mail address known to select members through the private e-mail (PM) function on the site. Choose a PASSWORD as you normally would, and be sure to keep it secure (see below). You must fill in the field labeled REAL NAME. This field is only visible to administrators, but lets us know who you are. We will need to know your AFFILIATION as well, which will also help us identify you. Finally, fill in the field labeled HOW DID YOU FIND THIS SITE? This is additional information we use to make sure you have a legitimate interest in the site. Importantly, just as for REAL NAME, only the site administration can view the information in AFFILIATION and HOW DID YOU FIND THIS SITE?
Please note, failure to fill in all requested information correctly will result in an outright rejection of your registration with no explanation.
Profile:
Your profile information is information that you make visible to the members of this site, and appears under account related settings. You access the profile page once you are a member of the site, from the menu on the first page. While unregistered members (guests) can view the cover page of the site, they cannot view internal topics and they cannot see members or membership information. Most of the profile information is largely optional (i.e., age, gender, location, etc). You can select an avatar and create signatures that appear at the end of your posts. Read more in the “How do I” section.
