Hi Everyone,

Do any of you know how to differentiate Helicoma chlamydosporum from Helicoma depressispora?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ribosomal sequencing. Go to NCBI and search the nucleotide database with your strain of interest. Look for the ITS or D1/D2 sequence (partial 28S), and pull that out. Run a BLAST search with it--the sequence will find itself, and will find the next closest sequences. if it is far enough away in % identity (>99%), then this could work.
